The Dallas Center-Grimes football program capped off an eventful homecoming week with a 41-0 victory over Perry Friday night. The Mustangs raced out to a 41-0 lead by halftime and held that advantage for the remainder of the night with contributions from 52 student-athletes. 
 
The offense was led by Junior quarterback Ty Walker who returned to action going 5/8 passing with 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Walker threw completions to 5 different receivers with Junior Caden Grimes hauling in the longest pass of 36 yards. Seniors Chantz Finley and Owen Curtis provided the receiving touchdowns. Junior running back Luke Busby led the Mustangs in rushing contributing 85 yards on 13 carries with 2 touchdowns. 7 Mustangs rushed the ball for DC-G totaling 162 yards on the ground. 
 
The Mustang defense held its third straight opponent without a touchdown as Sophomore linebacker Austin Fiori and  Junior defensive lineman Brody Burgher contributed 5 tackles each. Burgher added 3 tackles for loss and 1 fumble recovery. The defense also provided 2 scores during the second quarter. Junior linebacker Blake Willey hauled in an errant pass and rumbled 33 yards into the south end-zone. Junior defensive back Nic Lawton would provide his own celebration later in the 2nd returning an interception 37 yards for the score. The Mustangs forced 5 turnovers as Senior Dawson Lego added an interception for the second straight game and Sophomore Spencer Hall gathered in his first career fumble recovery. 
 
The Mustangs are now 4-1 on the season, 1-0 in the district. The Mustangs will take to the road in another district match-up next Friday October 5th at Humboldt.
